Named by Washingtonian magazine "Greatest Bourbon in the World" in 1995. A true single barrel bourbon. The nose presents hints of plums, candy, and papaya, and the medium body bears a simple palate with a touch of fruit, tobacco, and a pleasant minty backdrop. Opens evenly over the mouth: beautifully bitter sweet with the rye, toffee-cream oak. Finish Long, restrained age and some late rye and liquorice chewability. Unbelievably balanced and about as good as any bourbon gets. Enticingly sophisticated.
